Monster maker soybeans are a crucial part of year around nutrition to maintain a healthy deer herd and grow giant bucks. Soybeans have been a long time favorite of giant bucks during the summer because of their high protein levels and high digestibility that are needed while bucks are actively growing their antlers. The entire deer herd will flock to monster maker soybeans, not just the bucks, but also the nursing mothers who's back the entire herd is built off of, keep them well fed all summer and get the fawns off to the best start possible. Monster maker soybeans have a relative maturity of 4.0, giving food plotters in the midwest and south plenty of time to plant BEAST MODE, MAX BULB BRASSICA, or OVERDRIVE into the standing soybeans to maximize food on every available acre.

Row Spacing: Monster maker soybeans can be planted with a drill, planter, or broadcast. I recommend 7.5 inch row spacing, but they can be planted on 15 inch or 30inch spacing as well. The reason I like 7.5 inch row spacing is the plants canopy much faster, blocking the sunlight going to the ground and preventing more weeds and grasses from trying to compete with the soybeans.

Plants per acre: Soybeans are one the hardest plots to raise because deer love them so much that they will over-browse the young plants before they are established. Once the soybeans are established, deer can browse them to the ground but they will continue to grow back.(except in times of extreme drought...for soybeans to be established they need the first set of 3 leaves to come out, this can take 5-15 days after they emerge, depending on soil temperatures and the environment.)

For large fields with low deer density plant a minimum of 75LBS of MONSTER MAKER soybeans per acre.

large fields with high deer density, plant a minimum of 100 LBS of MONSTER MAKER per acre.

Small fields plant at a minimum of 150-200LBS of MONSTER MAKER per acre.

Small food plots, planting soybeans, and high deer density is a recipe for a failed plot. If you attempt this on a small plot please note that fencing the plot off Is the best way to ensure success. Consider switching to the MONSTER MAKER SUMMER MIX that generally holds up better to browsing pressure.

The key to a good soybean field is to plant enough seeds per acre that the deer cannot over-browse the entire field, this has to be a combination of a decent size plot and planting a high rate of soybeans per acre. Soybeans can be planted at a much higher rate and will still yield generally the same as soybeans that are planted at the perfect rate for Ag production. Nothing will ruin a soybean plot faster than planting a low rate of soybeans.

Planting Depth: 1/2"-3/4" deep

Planting Time: Plant when soil temperatures are a minimum of 60 degrees(the warmer the soil the faster the plants will grow and the quicker they will get established), generally 30-45 days after the average last frost date. Monster Maker soybeans can be planted as late as June or July, though grain production will be lower with later plantings.

Soil Fertility: always refer to a soil test for the most accurate amounts of fertilizer needed. If a soil test wasn't taken, add 200-300LBS of 9-23-30 at or before planting.

Innoculant: make 100% sure the soybean seed you are purchasing has been treated with rhizobia bacteria, this is critical for the soybean to make its own nitrogen.

Spraying: MONSTER MAKER SOYBEANS are roundup ready, and glyphosate may be applied to the soybeans.  A grass only herbicide can be applied as well.
