DIY FOOD PLOT PRO ROCKET FUEL is a 115 day proven corn that is highly sought after by whitetails, with a superior protein level in the growing months, consistently beating Ag corn in protein and fat content at dry down, but yet is has the highest digestible starch content of any corn we've tested. What that means is rocket fuel corn, is highly digestible by whitetails, and will help put weight back on after a hard rut that leaves the bucks run down. Rocket Fuel corn has consistently beat out Ag corn and high oil corn in dairy and beef cattle trials. Beef cattle fed rocket fuel corn, on average got to market weight 2 weeks faster than competitors corn...dairy cows fed rocket fuel produced an average of 2 liters more milk per day than the competitors corn. Why is this important in deer??? Cattle and deer are very similar in the fact that they are both ruminant animals, (the same 4 chamber stomach.)

We test rocket fuel corn every year against the best of the best in the hunting and agriculture industry, and rocket fuel corn has consistently done well in every aspect we look for. Click on the pictures to see our trials, even during a disastrous drought year rocket fuel still produced and kept the whitetails fed over the entire winter. For best results I recommend broadcasting BEAST MODE, MAX BULB BRASSICA, or OVERDRIVE into the standing corn during the fall, this maximizes food produced on the available acres.

Planting Instructions for ROCKET FUEL CORN

Spacing: Plant on 30 inch row spacing

Seeds Per Acre: Plant at 24,000-32,000 seeds per acre based upon quality of soils. For highly productive soils with average adequate rainfall amounts use the upper end of the rate. For poor soils, and climates with a high chance of drought, plant at the lower end of the rate.

Planting depth: plant at 1-2" deep

Timing: Plant when soil temperatures are a minimum of 60 degrees, generally 1 month after your average last frost date.

Fertility: corn needs high fertility to produce high quality forage and grain for the whitetails, always follow your specific soil test but below is a general guideline. Rocket fuel will grow best with a soil pH of 6.0-7.0. Add 300LBS of 9-23-30 per acre at or before planting, then add 300LBS of 46-0-0 per acre at or before planting or it can be spread over the top once the corn is 10-12 inches tall. spreading the 46-0-0 nitrogen over the top of the corn, you can generally cut the rate back by about 10%. NITROGEN IS NEEDED IN LARGE AMOUNTS TO PRODUCE A QUALITY CORN CROP, MAKE SURE YOU PUT ENOUGH NITROGEN!

Weeds and Grasses: Rocket Fuel corn is NOT roundup ready...spraying roundup on the corn will kill it. Wes has done countless trials with roundup ready corn vs non roundup ready corn and he feels confident that food plotters can raise a successful corn food plot without the need of spraying roundup on the corn.

At planting the field needs to be grass and weed free, generally I spray turndown 3-4 weeks before planting and then again right after planting but before the corn emerges. Using a pre emergent herbicide is strongly recommended, consult with your local agronomist as to what herbicides to use.
